WAFL: Sandover medallist Nik Rokahr tells Swan Districts he wants out despite holding a contract

Sandover medallist Nik Rokahr has dropped a bombshell on Swan Districts, telling the club he wants to move back to South Australia despite being contracted for next year. The West Australian understands Rokahr told club officials and teammates on Monday he wanted to return to South Australia. Rokahr joined Swans late last year from Norwood in the SANFL and became an instant star of the WAFL. He was the joint winner of the Sandover Medal alongside Claremont’s Callan England this year and was fairest and best for Swans after averaging 30 touches in 21 games. Rokahr was also part of their push to a preliminary final berth, starring in the loss to eventual premiers Peel Thunder. The Victorian-raised midfielder is contracted for 2025 at Swans but wants to South Australia for personal reasons. “At this point in time Nik has informed the club he wants to move back to South Australia for family reasons,” Swan Districts coach Andrew Pruyn told The West Australian. It is unclear if Swans will grant Rokahr the move as they look to build towards their first premiership in 15 years. They have already signed former Eagles midfielder Zane Trew and are looking at other recruits including former Fremantle defender Ethan Hughes.
