Late burst vaults Mavericks to win over Trail Blazers
Jaden Hardy has come off the bench to score a season-high 25 points to lead the Dallas Mavericks to a come-from-behind 117-111 NBA victory over the visiting Portland Trail Blazers.
P.J. Washington hit 23 points to go with 14 rebounds and three steals while Dereck Lively added 21 points along with a season-best 16 rebounds and three blocks for Dallas.
Thursday's win was the second straight for the Mavericks, ending a five-game skid.
Shaedon Sharpe had 22 points and eight rebounds, and Anfernee Simons also had 22 for Portland, who led nearly the entire contest before the late collapse.
Scoot Henderson put up 20 points off the bench and Donovan Clingan recorded 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Dallas trailed by 10 with less than five minutes remaining before ripping off 16 consecutive points.
Washington scored seven of them, including a 3-pointer as Dallas took a 112-109 lead, just its second advantage of the game.
In Phoenix, Bradley Beal scored a game-high 25 points off the bench, leading the Suns to a 123-115 win over the visiting Atlanta Hawks.
Grayson Allen and Kevin Durant added 23 points apiece for the home side while Devin Booker collected 20 points and 12 assists.
Tyus Jones chipped in 16 points, and Mason Plumlee had a team-high 10 rebounds.
Trae Young led Atlanta with 21 points and seven assists, Bogdan Bogdanovic scored 17 points and Australian Dyson Daniels 13 as the Hawks finished their road trip with a 2-4 record.
In other games, the Golden State Warriors beat the Detroit Pistons 107-104, the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Orlando Magic 104-89, the Houston Rockets won away against the Memphis Grizzlies 119-115, the Cleveland Cavaliers were too good for the Toronto Raptors 132-126, and the Miami Heat beat the Utah Jazz 97-92.
The game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Charlotte Hornets was postponed because of the LA wild fires.
There were also reports Lakers coach JJ Redick had lost his home in Pacific Palisades to the fires.
