Australia will face the defending HSBC SVNS champions Argentina in Perth as the draw for the upcoming festival of rugby was revealed.

After a hugely successful first event that saw sell-out finals crowds last year, Rugby Seven’s will return on January 24 for the third round of the tournament.

In the men’s Australia has been awarded no favours drawn alongside defending champions Argentina, Cape Town champions South Africa and runners-up USA in pool A.

While we are only two rounds into the season the Aussies will need a good result in front of a home crowd having finished 7th and 9th to keep their championship hopes alive.

However, the biggest draw card could lie outside the green and gold with current men’s leaders Fiji set to face fierce rivals New Zealand in Pool C.

For the women, Australia is in group C along with France, China, and Spain and currently sits second in the standings, having finished first and fourth so far.
