Trampolining for 24 hours is one of the new challenges being taken on at Telethon 2024 in an effort to raise much-needed funds for sick kids across the State.

Boogie Bounce instructors and participants will be challenging themselves to bounce on mini trampolines for 24 hours at the Telethon Family Festival on October 20.

Five teams will be taking on the massive challenge with one participant from each team taking turns to bounce.

Boogie Bounce WA teacher Lucy Atkins said she was inspired to get involved with Telethon after taking her trampoline lessons to schools and giving kids a chance to boost their physical and mental wellbeing.

She said the challenge was now a chance to help even more WA kids by raising funds for Telethon.

“We thought lets challenge ourselves to the max,” Ms Atkins said.

Ms Atkins said it was a dream come true to be a part of Telethon after many years of watching the fundraising marathon.

“I’d be the one in my family calling and then sitting all weekend seeing if my name was down the bottom or if it got read out and my brother was part of some research with Telethon,” she said.

“For me, it’s always been part of me, so to actually be there is just next level.”

Other 24 hour challenges at the Family Festival include Challenge Fit riding airbikes and a whole day of trying to complete jigsaw puzzles.
