South West players to feature for Perth Thundersticks men’s and women’s sides in Hockey One finals

Several players from the South West are set to feature for Perth Thundersticks’ men’s and women’s sides in the finals of the Hockey One competition this weekend. The competition will converge in Hobart for the finals, which will be played in their entirety across one weekend with the semifinals to take place on Saturday ahead of Sunday’s grand finals. The Thundersticks women’s side, which finished on top of the ladder with a 5-1 win-loss record, will take on Tassie Tigers in their semifinal at 9.30am WA time, ahead of the third-placed men’s side coming up against HC Melbourne for a place in the season decider at 11.30am. Collie’s Belle Ramshaw is in the mix to feature for the women’s side, but Eaton product and the team’s vice-captain Candyce Peacock is set to miss the finals due to an injury from the closing stages of the regular season. Dardanup-raised Kookaburra Jake Harvie and his brother Tom have starred for the men’s side this season, while fellow Boyanup Hockey Club product Coby Green has also featured in most of their matches. The grand finals will start at 12.30pm (men’s) and 2.30pm (women’s), with the Thundersticks to feature in third-place playoffs earlier in the day if they do not win their semifinals.
