Successful drug bust in Mingenew with Morawa, Perenjori, Three Springs and Carnamah police assisting community

Officers from multiple police stations around the district joined forces in a recent drug bust in Mingenew. Mingenew Police — with the help of police from Morawa, Perenjori, Three Springs and Carnamah — executed a search warrant at an address in Mingenew on Monday, June 13. Several items were seized from the home on King Street including a large quantity of cannabis and smoking implements. As a result of the search warrant, a 42-year-old woman was arrested and charged. Police allege they seized 59 grams of cannabis, one cannabis plant, a quantity of cannabis seeds and smoking implements. Mingenew Police Sgt Tim Rainer said investigations into the supply of prohibited drugs within Mingenew and surrounding communities would continue, while he praised the small community for their continuous assistance. “I’d like to thank the community of Mingenew for the ongoing submission of intelligence via Crime Stoppers WA, we review this intelligence daily and every snippet of information enhances our ability to disrupt the supply of prohibited drugs and reduce the impact of drug-related crime,” he said. “If you know something about illegal drug activity in Mingenew then say something, drop into the station, give us a call, or contact Crime Stoppers WA and make an anonymous report.” The 42-year-old from Mingenew is due to face court on August 17 and was charged with possession of a prohibited drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.
