Police have released the name of a man who died in a fishing accident near Quobba Station north of Carnarvon earlier this month.

He was Shu-Wei Chao, 28, of Morgantown, Carnarvon.

Mr Chao went missing on Sunday, August 13, when a large wave washed him off rocks while fishing at High Rocks, prompting a land, sea and air search.

His body was found washed ashore, south of the Blowholes, on Thursday, August 17.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
