Relay for Life Mid West: Close shave gets cancer cash push started

Fundraising has always been a challenge, and it hasn’t been helped by COVID-19, but the Dare To Dream crew could see the Australian spirit shining through.

Members of Dare to Dream came together with a common link through the health industry as colleagues, friends and family.

All have been touched by cancer.

Their own “Big Shave” put team captain, Dianne “Grandma” Grima under the clippers.

Ms Grima’s hair had already been dyed multiple colours by a local hairdresser, then they had the bright idea of tying it into many little ponytails.

Each one was sold for a gold coin donation, and by the end of the day their efforts added to what had already been achieved, reaching an impressive $4322.70 in donations to Relay For Life.
