Mullewa locals and visitors will experience horseback-riding stunts, comedy, fireworks and celebrate what it means to live in Mullewa at the 2017 Agricultural Show on Saturday.

Girls Girls Girls WA Trick Riders — the first trick-riding troupe to be started in WA by Jacinta Maurer — will be showing off their stunt horseback riding at this year’s show for two sessions.

Children will learn about agriculture with the new Experience Agriculture Trail activity, taking them to eight sites at the show to learn something new at each point, with the chance to go into a draw for a prize at the end. There will be 200 spots for the Experience Agriculture Trail. Other attractions this year include the Geraldton Comedy Emporium show, Mullewa quick shear show, exhibitions, market stalls and free face-painting for the kids.

This year Mullewa Agricultural Society is sponsoring discounts rides for youngsters on sideshow alley.

Mullewa Agricultural Society secretary Julie Freeman said this year they had tried to ensure visitors experienced agriculture and had a big day out as cheaply as possible.

“Take a drive through wildflower country, visit Outback Bloom — Mullewa’s Wildflower Festival and then come up to the showgrounds for lunch and an afternoon packed full of thrills,” she said.

Gates open at 9.30am, with the main pavilion opening at noon. Tickets are $15 for adults, $5 for seniors, and kids younger than 16 enter for free.
