Motorist dies in crash near Carnarvon

Police are investigating the death of a 45-year-old man in a crash on the North West Coastal Highway near Carnarvon last night.

Police said the man was driving a white Ford Falcon ute at South Plantations, about 5km east of Carnarvon, about 8.45pm when it crashed into a small sign post.

A passing motorist raised the alarm.

Emergency services tried unsuccessfully to revive the man.

Police said they were waiting to determine the cause of death following a post mortem.

Carnarvon police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash or a white Ford Falcon Ute driving in the area before the crash to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
