Mid West and Gascoyne community organisations encouraged to apply for Horizon Power’s community funding

WA regional energy provider Horizon Power is seeking submissions for its latest round of community funding.

Through Horizon Power’s community partnerships program, organisations that help contribute to the community within their service area including the Mid West and Gascoyne can apply for grants.

In total, $1.1 million is distributed each financial year for community organisations to help make an impact in the community, with more than $400,000 available for this round.

Organisations can receive up to $10,000 if they are localised within a single region, while organisations across multiple regions can apply for grants up to $50,000.

Horizon Power chief executive Stephanie Unwin said it was important to contribute to community groups to help them achieve success.

“Our towns are made up of so many passionate people who work tirelessly to support their communities. The programs and events they run are making a real difference to the lives of many people and we are proud to be able to support them,” she said.

Organisations to receive funding in the past have included the Carnarvon State Emergency Service, the Exmouth Community Garden and the shire of Shark Bay’s Beats in the Bay festival.

Applicants for the latest round closes on Monday, August 19.
