Kalbarri police are seeking the community’s help after receiving a report of a stolen boat motor from the town’s recycling centre last week.

Officer-in-charge Sgt Darren Conner said police were investigating an incident that occurred at the Kalbarri refuse site between Thursday and Friday.

“Police are currently investigating the theft of a 9HP Mariner outboard motor from the refuse site,” he said.

Police would allege the boat motor was stolen from a storage facility at the bottle and can redemption centre in Kalbarri.

It is unconfirmed whether the storage facility was locked, or if someone may have mistaken the motor as dumped property.

“The motor was left in a storage area at the facility. Police are continuing inquiries and request anyone with information to contact local police or Crime Stoppers,” Sgt Conner said.

To report information relating to the investigation contact Kalbarri police on 9936 3000 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
