A woman on an outstanding arrest warrant came unstuck when her car broke down yesterday in the Mid West, only for police to pass by and offer their help.

The incident happened about 11am on Great Northern Highway, about 10 kilometres north of Cue.

Sergeant Clint Brennan said police spotted smoke belching from the parked car and pulled over to offer assistance.

Police then identified one of the three occupants of the car, a 23-year-old Meekatharra woman, as having an outstanding warrant.

“Fortunately for us, we didn’t need to go looking for her,” Sgt Brennan said.

“She came to us.”

The woman was taken to Meekatharra and appeared in court facing a charge of breaching bail.

She was remanded to appear before court at a later date.
