Exmouth has won back-to-back Gascoyne Football Association premierships, breaking the hearts of grand final rivals Tigers.

In the sixth meeting between the two sides in the decider since 2019, the Eagles looked to even the ledger with Ramblers winning three of the five previous titles.

Hosted at Carnarvon’s Festival Ground, the Tigers were looking to pull off an upset, having lost their past three games against Exmouth after defeating them in round two.

The game started off with accurate kicking, with just one goal separating the two sides at quarter time.

However, the Eagles began to build momentum, kicking four goals to two in the second term to build a buffer of 22 points at half-time.

The third quarter saw the Tigers give it everything, but Exmouth seemed to have all the answers.

They kept the Tigers to a solitary goal while kicking three of their own, with the Eagles having one eye on the premiership cup.

They continued to pile on the punishment in the last, kicking five majors to take the 17.14 (116) to 8.4 (52) win.

Exmouth captain and former Geelong rookie Tom Read was awarded best on ground for his efforts during the match.

Meanwhile, Tiger Riley Evans was awarded the league’s fairest and best, and presented his medal by North West Central MLA Merome Beard.

Eagle Jarrad Faithful topped the goal kickers list with 31 for the season.

Earlier in the day, an exhibition match between Carnarvon and Exmouth’s colts sides took place, with the latter winning on the day.

The final score saw the Gascoyne side defeat the Eagles 11.18 (84) to 2.10 (22).

Indy Radcliffe was best on ground during the contest.
