Ernie Dingo added to Jamba Nyinayi line-up as MC for Coral Bay festival celebrating First Nations culture

Ernie Dingo will MC the 2024 Jamba Nyinayi Festival, which is returning for its third year on Friday, April 11, adding camping packages to the two-day line-up of local and nationally recognised Indigenous artists and performers from the Mid West-Gascoyne. Dingo will be joining the main stage on Friday, April 12 as the MC alongside accomplished traditional dancers Ngurrangga Tours Ngunda-nari and Raymond Edney to the 2024 main stage performance line-up. Campfire sessions will be held on festival eve, the evening of April 11, with intimate music performances, traditional dances and storytelling by the open campfire. The Jamba Nyinayi Festival, owned by Baiyungu Aboriginal Corporation, is a unique community festival featuring original and local Indigenous arts, music, entertainment and cultural shows, hosted and held on Baiyungu Country in Coral Bay. The event focuses on delivering inspirational cultural tourism activities shared by the Baiyungu people, traditional owners of the World Heritage Nyinggulu (Ningaloo) region in WA, across the weekend. Artistic director David Hyams and dance co-ordinator Janine Oxenham have curated original music and dance to this year’s festival theme of A Gathering Place. The festival is a family friendly event located on the salt flats at Cardabia Station in Coral Bay and is free of charge, however registrations are essential to attend. Headlining the festival in 2024 is Stephen Pigram, David Milroy and Lucky Oceans, Kankawa Nagarra (Olive Knight), Razzy Mak, Fred Ryan and festival favourites the Jamba Nyinayi Band featuring Hazel Walgar and Wes Mongoo, the Pundarra Performance Group and Coral Spawn Dancers.
