The Dalkeith Nedlands Junior Football Club made the journey up to the Mid West for the Murlpirrmarra Connection’s 14th Annual Cultural Weekend facing off against the Wiluna Martu Eagles and Mount Magnet Miners.

This year’s carnival took place in Wiluna over the long weekend, bringing together young players (aged 6-18) from the Wiluna Martu Eagles, Mount Magnet Miners and Dalkeith Nedlands in a unique team-building weekend that combined football with educational activities.

The partnership between the Wiluna Martu Eagles and the Dalkeith Nedlands has strengthened over the years into a mutually respectful rivalry, producing some memorable football games and many lasting friendships.

On Friday night, Mount Magnet prevailed 12.7 (79) to Dalkeith Nedlands 4.4 (32). Both sides demonstrated a great display of camaraderie, sportsmanship and talent.

On Sunday afternoon, Wiluna defeated Dalkeith Nedlands in the final match of the weekend.

The Murlpirrmarra Connection is a not-for-profit organisation focused on providing Wiluna, Leonora and Murchison based Aboriginal youth with access to quality secondary education options
