Cooler Geraldton weather offers some welcome relief for triathletes
“Cool,” said competitors when they fronted to resume the triathlon season in Geraldton last Sunday.
They were talking about the weather, which made it less taxing on the body than the previous week.
Kyrone Bradley was first out of the water on the Enticer course and was able to hold off Di Mahoney on the bike and run, with Russell Turan third.
There were only a few minutes between the first four places in the short course; Troy Gildersleeve holding off Dannika Barras, who regularly manages to shave seconds off her times.
Paula Wilson used her fast run to take third and hold off Andrew Blackburn, who had the fastest bike leg. In the duathlon, Ray Crudeli had a one-minute lead after the bike from Mandy Reilly.
They came out of transition side by side, with Reilly finishing strongly in the run to beat Crudeli.
