Lake View head the Eastern Goldfields Cricket Association’s A-grade standings after they scrambled to a third consecutive victory on Saturday against Hannans.

Set 215 to win, the Viewers initially struggled to 2-27, and later at 7-120, before the experience and leadership of new player-coach Sean Terry got them home by one wicket in 47.4 overs.

Terry, a former Irish international, contributed a match-winning 56 not out off 58 balls from the No.9 spot, and No.6 batter Mark Williams made 44 from 59 balls.

George Harrington-Hodge led Hannans’ attack with 3-43, and earlier contributed an unbeaten 21 off 27 deliveries in the team’s 8-214, when Brandon Williams top-scored with 54.

Shasa Molgaard Angel also played well for his unbeaten 38 as Stuart Kennedy and Corey Yeo each snared three wickets.

Under Terry, Lake View have rebounded impressively since losing the season-opener against Great Boulder.

Terry, 33, was born in England but spent most of his formative years in Perth, where he attended Aquinas College and earned WA under-19 selection.

By 2012, he was back in the UK, where he made his first-class debut for Hampshire.

He moved to Dublin four years later in the hopes of earning international selection for Ireland — eligible because his mother was born in Walkinstown.

His father is Paul Terry, who made two Test appearances for England in 1984.

Sean Terry’s extensive Perth links include six premierships at Melville.

He replaced Matt Carter at the helm of the Viewers after one appearance for the club last summer, against Hannans in round eight.

Lake View headed into last season chasing back-to-back A-grade flags, but finished fourth.

The Viewers, however, made the final of the Twenty20 series that was later rained out, and the B-grade side were premiers.
