This week we have chosen an image taken by Max Johnson, which perfectly captures the joy and curiosity of kids on their school holidays.

Taken on the last day of the holidays, Mr Johnson snapped the photo at St Georges Beach in Bluff Point showing a trio of kids running away from the splashing waves on sandbags stationed on the beach.

The beach can be a fun pastime even on a cold winter’s day.

When it came to our top comments, some of the biggest stories of the week that our readers responded to included a business case on the need to upgrade Geraldton-Mt Magnet Road, Western Power repairing hundreds of poles in the region, local company Bhagwan Marine’s impending float on the ASX and the City of Greater Geraldton being named a finalist in awards for waste management.

ROAD REPAIRS

“A minuscule amount compared with how much the Government spends on Perth and the South West!” Barbara Damp

POLE UPGRADES

“Maybe we need to get with the times and move power underground.” Belinda Forbes

WASTE AWARDS

“No recycling bin, no FOGO bin — what a joke. CGG are not serious about recycling. Look at other towns like Broome, Bunbury and Albany, who are all over recycling while the CGG are still in the last century.” Neville Blackburn

BHAGWAN ASX LISTING

“Well done to our Geraldton family’s amazing achievement and commitment to seeing things through to reaching such heights. Well done.” Karen Roderick
