Darko Prlenda: Police, DFES Marine Rescue search for missing man around Red Bluff Beach in Kalbarri

Police are searching Kalbarri and surrounding coastline for any sign of a man missing for four days, who was last seen at a Kalbarri caravan park.

Darko Prlenda, 46, was reported missing on Saturday. That was when the alarm was raised after he had not been seen for two days and his belongings and his hire car remained at the short-stay caravan park where he was staying.

Mr Prlenda arrived at Kalbarri on Thursday October 27 and was not due to leave the caravan park until later this week.

“Since then (Saturday) extensive inquiries and a search operation has been conducted involving police, DFES State Emergency Service volunteers, an AMSA Challenger Jet and a local plane operator,” WA Police said.

Police are continuing their land and marine search for the missing 46-year-old.

Monday’s search activity will involve police and DFES Marine Rescue searching along the coastline north and south of the caravan park around the vicinity of Red Bluff Beach.

Mr Prlenda appears to be a keen adventurer, having climbed to the Mt Everest base camp in December 2019. At the time, he worked for mining company Minprovise.
