Mid West Gascoyne businesses receive funds from State Government to drive sales, marketing and sustainability

Three Mid West Gascoyne businesses will receive more than $13,000 in State Government funding from business development vouchers designed to support WA’s agrifood and beverage sector. Business 30 Knots Spirits in Geraldton will receive a $3375 voucher, while Burnt Barrel in Chapman Valley will receive a $2745 voucher. Both businesses will be putting the funds towards sales and marketing. Carnarvon-based Sweeter Banana Co-Operative received a voucher for $7850 which will go towards environmental sustainability and social responsibility. More than $470,700 in vouchers have been awarded to 69 applicants from the Mid West, Great Southern, South West, Peel, Wheatbelt, Gascoyne, Pilbara and Perth metropolitan area to grow their operations. Agriculture and Food Minister Jackie Jarvis said the Government’s vision was for a strong WA economy. “This Cook Government investment will mean more local processing and manufacturing as well as more local jobs,” she said. The vouchers will also attract more than $741,600 in co-investment from the successful recipients to the benefit of the WA economy. Since the voucher program began in 2018, more than $1.39 million has been distributed via 286 vouchers to small and medium-sized food and beverage businesses, attracting almost $2m in matching funding.
