Maitland Park was alive with the sounds of carolling at the weekend, with hundreds of Geraldton residents flocking to take part in the annual candlelight event.

Presented by Geraldton Christian Churches, the evening of family fun kicked off with face painting, wildlife displays, pony rides volleyball games and other activities.

Food trucks kept the crowds fed as people picked the perfect spot to watch the entertainment unfold.

Geraldton City Band provided the pre-show music before a group of local community singers led everyone in a mix of traditional and modern Christmas carols.

Geraldton students presented Bible readings throughout the evening, which ended with the Geraldton bells carillon chime.
