‘Critical injuries’: Homicide squad investigates woman’s death

Homicide squad detectives are investigating the death of a woman in Melbourne’s east.

Emergency services were called to a property on Patrick Ave in Croydon North about 10.15pm on Saturday after reports of an assault.

“Paramedics worked on a woman found with critical injuries,” police said in a statement on Sunday.

“Sadly, the woman who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.”

A 40-year-old man is assisting police with their enquiries.

Forensics teams are combing through the property, while police have also spoken to neighbours.
