Perth incident: Elderly man charged with assault on male in retail store toilets in Forrest Chase

An elderly man will face court next month accused of indecently assaulting another male in the toilets of a retail store in Perth’s shopping precinct on Saturday.

Perth detectives have charged a 77-year-old man over the incident, where it is alleged he approached and assaulted the person inside the male toilets of a store in Forrest Chase on Murray Street, about 3.30pm on Saturday.

Police say the accused and alleged victim are unknown to each other.

The 77-year-old, from Balcatta, is now facing one count of unlawful and indecent assault over the incident.

He will front Perth Magistrates Court on November 19.

Police investigations are continuing and detectives urge anyone who may have been assaulted in the area around Forrest Chase to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Victims of sexual abuse or anybody with information regarding abuse, is asked to contact police on 131 444.
