The Margaret River Hawks Cricket Club have named some familiar faces for leading the 2024-25 season.

Jack Green returns as A-Grade captain, Michael Earl leads the charge for B-Grade, and club president Curtis Bacich takes on the challenge of reviving the C-Grade side after a year’s hiatus.

The looming cricket season would see sides hoping to rekindle the magic of last year.

The A-Grade side goes into this season as the reigning T20 champions.

Club spokesperson Earl said the A-Grade didn’t want to simply defend their title, but “go all the way” in the 50-over competition after narrowly missing out in last season’s grand final.

Under Green’s leadership, Earl said the team was fired up, stacked with local talent, and looking even stronger than ever.

“Jack’s excited not just about chasing silverware, but also about continuing to blend the young guns with the senior players, fostering that Hawks culture we all love,” Earl told the Times.

“The squad’s shaping up nicely, but we’re still on the lookout for a few more players to join the fun.”

Meanwhile, Earl said he was “pretty pumped” about his B-Grade side.

“With a couple of new recruits and some of last year’s juniors now towering a foot taller, the energy in the squad is at an all-time high,” he said.

C-Grade captain Bacich had spared no efforts to revive his squad for the coming season.

“Nearly 40 players have already registered across the three grades, but we’re still keen for more,” Earl said.

“So if you’re thinking about joining an all-inclusive, laid-back club with a bit of a competitive edge, now’s your chance.”

Training had started on Tuesdays and Thursdays, followed by a barbecues with teammates.
