2025 Leapmotor B10: Affordable electric SUV coming to Australia next year

The Leapmotor B10 has been unveiled in Europe, and the compact electric SUV is due to arrive in Australia in 2025.

Leapmotor and Stellantis – the parent company of Jeep and Fiat – joined forces earlier this year, establishing a joint venture called Leapmotor International to help launch the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) brand into new markets including Australia.

The B10 is the second Leapmotor model confirmed for local release, alongside the larger C10 that’s due to arrive next month, with prices starting below $50,000 before on-road costs.

Leapmotor is yet to detail the B10, but it’s expected to be more affordable than the C10, suggesting its price could start closer to $40,000 before on-roads when it arrives here next year.

As the first ‘B-series’ Leapmotor vehicle – not to be confused with Ford Falcons from 2002 to 2010 – it’s also the brand’s debutant for its new Leap 3.5 chassis architecture.

Details are non-existent, but Leapmotor claims it’s “a highly integrated platform that provides cutting-edge features like ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), a customizable digital cockpit, and intelligent driving capabilities.”

Unfortunately, it’s also yet to detail what electric motors power the B10, though again it’s expected to offer less performance and driving range than the C10.

For context, the Leapmotor C10’s rear wheels are driven by a 160kW and 320Nm electric motor, which is powered by a 69.9kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, delivering up to 420km of driving range.

No images of the B10’s cabin have been released, with only its exterior design revealed at this week’s Paris motor show.

It shares a similar exterior to the C10, however, the B10’s LED headlights are thinner and feature unique graphics that carry across to the rear.

More information about the Leapmotor B10 will be announced in the near future, and local pricing and specifications are expected ahead of its Australian debut.
