Channel 10 axes talk show Studio 10 after a decade on air
Channel 10 has axed its daytime TV show Studio 10 after a decade on air.
The presenters and reporters including Narelda Jacobs, Tristan McManus, Angela Bishop and Daniel Doody will remain with the network in unspecified roles. A number of staff is expected to be redeployed.
The show posted on its Instagram page, “After 10 years as a morning cornerstone in households around Australia, Studio 10 is sad to confirm that the show will be not be returning in 2024.
“It’s been a long and wild ride producing 2500+ episodes of a show that has brought us as much joy to make as we hope you have had watching.”
The series will broadcast its last episode on December 22. The social post promised it would be “going out with a bang”.
A network spokesperson said, as reported by TV Tonight, that a new morning line-up would be announced but that the focus on news and current affairs would shift to later in the day.
There will be a news bulletin introduced into the 3.30pm slot in addition to 10 News Midday.
Studio 10 launched in 2013 as part of a coupling with a breakfast program that was cancelled many years earlier. Its original host line-up consisted of Sarah Harris, Jessica Rowe, Ita Buttrose and Joe Hildebrand.
The show has often struggled with low ratings against rivals on channels Seven and Nine.
