Coldplay is returning to Australia next year after two hit Perth shows and punters who missed the spectacle are being offered free tickets.

People impacted by flight cancellations coming into WA last week have the opportunity to claim a free ticket from the band.

A post by the band on X, formerly known as Twitter, said they were “really sorry” to hear people missed out after two flights prevented people from attending.

“We were really sorry to hear about the fans who didn’t make it to this weekend’s Perth shows because of two cancelled flights from Adelaide and Brisbane,” they said.

The free tickets apply to people who were due to travel on flights VA721 on Wednesday night or VA474 on Thursday evening, and who had previously purchased a ticket for either of the Perth shows.

“Anyone affected should email info@livenation.com.au before 5pm AEDT on 28th November for info on how to claim their ticket(s),” the post concluded.

It comes as the band announced an Australian and New Zealand Tour in 2024 one day after a two-show musical feast in Perth as part of their Asian tour.

“Thank you Perth - that was off the charts,” the band posted on social media after the Perth shows.

The four-piece band played to a 67,000-strong crowd on Saturday night, going all out with synchronised light-up wristbands for each attendee, alien costumes, flashing lights and pyrotechnics, and eco-friendly confetti and fireworks to wrap the night.

The same spectacle was gifted to an Optus Stadium filled with adoring fans on Sunday.

Pre-sale for the new shows — which feature guests Pinkpantheress and Emmanuel Kelly — starts on November 29 and general tickets go on sale on December 1.
