Jay-Z accused of raping teenage girl with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs in civil lawsuit
World-famous rapper Jay-Z has reportedly been accused of raping a 13-year-old girl along with Sean “Diddy” Combs in a civil lawsuit filed in the US.
The alleged attack reportedly took place after the young girl, identified only as “Jane Doe”, was driven to an MTV Video Music Awards after-party in 2000, according to NBC.
The Federal lawsuit was originally filed in the Southern District of New York back in October listing Combs as the defendant, but was reportedly re-filed on Sunday with Jay-Z’s name, Shawn Carter, added.
The lawsuit alleges the young girl was dropped off at the VMAs at Radio City Music Hall by a friend on the night of the alleged attack.
She did not have a ticket for the event and reportedly approached various limousine drivers trying to get access to the show or to an after-party.
One driver, the lawsuit alleges, told the girl he worked for Combs and that she “fit what Diddy was looking for”.
He told her to return later, which she did, before she was allegedly driving to a white house and forced to sign what she believed was a non-disclosure agreement.
In the lawsuit she claimed to have been given a drink which made her woozy and went to lie down in a room.
Shortly afterward, Combs and Carter allegedly entered the room as Combs said: “You are ready to party”.
She accused Carter of removing her clothes and raping her while Combs and an unnamed female celebrity watched. She also alleged that Combs did the same while Carter and the woman looked on.
After the alleged assault she grabbed her clothes, made her way to a petrol station and called her father.
Carter called the allegations “idiotic” in a statement to NBC.
“These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!! Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree?” he said.
“These alleged victims would deserve real justice if that were the case.”
Combs’ lawyers called the suits “shameless publicity stunts, designed to extract payments from celebrities who fear having lies spread about them, just as lies have been spread about Mr Combs”.
Combs, 55, has been in a Brooklyn remand centre since being arrested in September on charges accusing him of using his business empire including record label Bad Boy Entertainment to transport women and male sex workers across state lines to take part in recorded performances called “Freak Offs”.
The music mogul is scheduled to go on trial starting in May, 2025 on three felony counts: racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prosecution. Combs’ lawyers have said the sexual activity described in the indictment was consensual.
Separately, Combs is seeking to be released on $US50 million ($A77 million) bail backed by his $US48 million ($A73 million) Florida mansion and co-signed by several family members.
He has been denied bail three times, with multiple judges citing a risk that he might tamper with witnesses.
Combs has denied all the allegations against him.
