Solar glass innovator ClearVue Technologies has expanded its strategic partnership with Qatar’s top glass processor and façade manufacturer Aluminium Technology Auxiliary Industries (Alutec) to distribute its unique energy-generating windows into a potentially multi-billion-dollar United Arab Emirates (UAE) market.

The five-year deal cements ClearVue’s vision to harness the surging demand for energy-efficient construction materials in the UAE, a market renowned for its ambitious projects and commitment to sustainability.

Under the revised manufacturing and distribution agreement, Alutec is authorised to sub-distribute ClearVue’s advanced solar glass technology through Dune MENA General Trading, a related entity to Alutec.

The technology can soak up and generate energy from the sun, potentially turning big building façades into massive solar energy panels.

The deal paves the way for ClearVue’s flagship solar glazing products, including its high-energy ClearVue PV Solar Vision glass, to be distributed directly within the UAE.

The country’s construction market is part of a broader Middle East market projected to be worth $240 billion (A$385b) by 2029, which makes it a tantalising expansion opportunity for Clearvue.

By leveraging Alutec’s manufacturing capabilities in Qatar and Dune Trading’s established presence in the region, Clearvue intends to meet the region’s increasing demand for sustainable and energy-efficient building solutions.

Expansion of the agreement to include Dune Trading in the UAE represents another milestone in ClearVue’s expansion into the Middle East. The UAE is a dynamic market committed to bold construction projects with ambitious sustainability goals and we are excited to bring our technology to projects that will help meet these goals.

The company says it will now seek to further expand its distribution agreements into the Indian and Saudi Arabian markets, expected to be facilitated by Alutec and kick-off in 2025.

A planned agreement with an Indian subsidiary of Alutec’s Aria Holdings in early 2025 will target India’s $1.4 trillion construction market, while a deal in Saudi Arabia planned for later this year could put Clearvue in the driver’s seat as a provider to the globe’s largest growing solar markets.

In November last year, ClearVue locked down a big Chinese manufacturer to produce and supply its solar windows around the globe via a five-year deal.

Alutec is the biggest building façade manufacturer in Qatar and a top three player in the region. The company says it has been integral to building Qatar’s stunning skyline for more than two decades, giving it a head start in being able to push ClearVue’s solar vision glass into its local markets.

ClearVue’s Building Integrated Photovoltaic technology integrates solar energy generation into glazing in building façades, offering what it says is a game-changing solution for sustainable construction.

Its ability to generate energy from clear glass windows enhances both energy efficiency and sustainability, two major priorities for Middle Eastern governments and developers.

As ClearVue’s partnerships and brand recognition grow in the Middle East the company looks set to ride Alutec’s expanding network through 2025. With a strategy to continue saturation of its innovative technologies overseas, the company is hoping the future of construction is not only green - but transparent.
