Australian model Olivia Molly Rogers has taken to social media to call for help after an Uber driver allegedly failed to deliver her belongings to her home.

The model, posting to TikTok, claims the alleged failure happened last week when she booked a driver from the company’s popular package delivery service to move some clothes and belongings back to her home address.

The car that arrived didn’t match the booking, Rogers said, and she took a photograph of the vehicle as a security measure.

“He (the driver) said, ‘Oh no, I’ve got your name and your booking, I’m just using a friend’s car today. It’s all good’.”

Rogers said she put her belongings in the car and listed her friend as a recipient, but the goods never arrived.

“At first, they (Uber) just said they were trying to contact the driver and they couldn’t,” she told her social media followers.

“A couple of days passed and they said they got onto him and he said he had delivered it 60m from the destination.

“Sixty metres is quite far and the destination was a house, so I don’t know why that would have happened.

“I said, ‘He should have taken a photo of where he delivered it, if it wasn’t to the recipient. So can you show me this?’

“And they said, ‘Oh we’re sorry, we understand it’s disappointing but there’s nothing we can do’.

“So I followed up again, they followed him up again, and they came back to me and said, ‘The driver is now saying he did deliver it to the destination’.

“So I said to them again, can you please get him to send a photo of the delivery if he didn’t give it to the recipient?’

“He never tried to contact the recipient. He never tried to contact me. They are claiming that he did.”

Rogers said she reported the incident to the police, but she wanted Uber to take more “responsibility” for the kerfuffle.

“I just want my stuff back,” she said.

“If anybody has any idea of how I can get Uber to actually help and do something.

“It’s very concerning they don’t take any responsibility for the goods you give them.

“You are putting your trust in their drivers to do a job.

“I won’t be using it (the delivery service) again.”

Rogers counts almost 100,000 followers on TikTok and many reacted to her story with advice and their own claims of allegedly substandard service.

“Uber has appalling customer service,” one wrote.

“I’ve had a similar experience. They basically say that they can’t help you and that’s that.”

Another said: “Never proceed if the number plate does not match the booking.”

In a statement, an Uber spokeswoman told NewsWire the company was aware of the rider’s report and its specialist incident response team had an investigation underway to understand what went wrong.

“We understand the rider’s frustration and have provided credit for the rider’s trip while we investigate this further,” the spokeswoman said.

“We stand ready to assist any police investigations that commence.”
